Part time Ninja

Last Thursday we went to S.D. to visit Grammy and my brother. My nephew Eddie got his tonsils out Friday morning and did a wonderful job. We had a great visit but if you are trying to lose weight don't go visit my mother!!! OK you have been warned. I have done my duty…don't tell me about self-control!

Part time Ninja Eddie

We had a scary drive home Saturday night. We left earlier than we planned because it was going to rain and it sure did! Shortly after we crossed over into Minnesota the rain was coming down heavy. We started to slide across the interstate lanes. So we slowed way way down and when we went over bridges or if someone passed us we would slide all over. We passed a car that slide around and was facing on going traffic. When we got out of the van to check on the lady in the car we were walking on ice. So I called my mom to give me an update on what the weather for the rest of Minnesota was and she found out it was going to keep raining till Sunday evening. It was either stay the night in a hotel and face the storm the next day and miss church or go slow and keep moving north. We had to get north of the rain, so we traveled very slowly. It only took 2 more hours to get home than it would in good weather and it was so worth it to be in our own bed at night. Nothing feels as good as being in your own bed after being away for a time.

On Sunday we were playing Bible who am I, it's a game were you describe someone from the Bible and everyone else tries to guess who you are describing. One of Lilly's began "I was one of Jesus' disciples and I wrote 5 books of the bible", Danielle said John and Lilly went on to say," Well if you believe he wrote Revelation, that would be 5 books, which of course I believe he did." I thought it was cute that she had her own opinion on who wrote Revelation Of course she is right!!!

Ethan likes to do origami, he has an origami calendar, which has a new project for each day of the year. On President's Day he made a dollar into a bow tie, very coolage!

Swimming in Feb.

We had a blast of rain and wet snow Sunday night. Our power went out as it usually does when we have any kind of storm. The house never got cold though.
We have been getting Reader's Digest in the mail, has anyone given us a subscription and forgotten to tell us?

I went to a Podiatrist yesterday to see if he could figure out what is wrong with my foot. I get a burning pain in the top of my foot when I put a lot of pressure on it. He thinks I have something called neuromas. They have 3 different treatments for it, one is surgery where they go in and remove the nerve, second one would be to treat it with cortisone and the last treatment for it, is to shoot it up with an alcohol mixture that would deaden it.

Rex and I went to a Valentine's party. We had a blast even though we came in last in the game "The Oldie Wed Game". It was a nice ending to our weekend. Rex and I spent a night away from the kids at a nearby hotel. We took the kids swimming at the hotel, we had the whole pool to ourselves! Rex took the kids home and we went out for Korean food, it was sooooo scrumptious. I can't wait to go back.

I guess it is time to look into driving lessons for Rexford; he will be turning 15 in May. He is at an odd height and weight right now. I need to order his pants online since I can't find his size in stores.

The Horror

The horror and anguish Geneva goes through when she doesn't get her way is almost comical. The good news (for some people) is she doesn't get her way all the time. She is starting to say three word sentences and boy is it ever cute.

Lilly and Danielle are feeling better, other than being cooped up in the house so we don't spread our sick germs to people they are doing well. Danielle has had strep throat three times in the last 6 months. The boys haven't gotten ill…. yea!!!!! I know the Lord is in control of all things and His purposes are perfect.

Rex went to a grappling seminar in Wisconsin last Saturday and had a great time. He came home with a few scrapes and bruises. He grappled one round and won, making his opponent submit.
