Home

I have been thinking of the Khans and how happy they must be right now to be in the presence of the Lord.

FOR we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2Cr 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,
2Cr 5:3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.
2Cr 5:4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
2Cr 5:5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
2Cr 5:6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.
2Cr 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2Cr 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

19 years

Today is my 19th wedding Anniversary. Wow it is hard to believe 19 years ago I got married, but then I look at my six kids and believe it! We didn’t date long that is for sure. I meet Rex in January, we married in August. He came into the restaurant where I worked as the late night waitress. He came in with a friend, his friend was the cook’s friend. I think he called me Marion the Librarian or something like that. Anyway I would spend time at the cook’s house on the weekends and got some more time with him. I remember one time we went to a skateboard contest and he entered it. He got on his board went a ways and then light up a cigar…it was so funny. He didn’t win but it certainly endeared me to him.

Our home is back on the market with a new realtor and we have not had any showing:) It is certainly wonderful to know everything is in God’s hands! He knows what is best for us. I was talking to one of my friends about prayer and she was telling me about a sermon she had just read. Saying wouldn’t be awful if God gave us everything we asked for.

We have made some more improvements to the house. Rex installed new flooring in the laundry room and he redid the counter in one of the bathrooms and in the laundry room. He installed a new ceiling fan and doorbell. Also a new outside light.

I still have a sore throat! It has been a couple weeks now. The morning is the worse but by the evening I am much better:) Rex has had his second cortisone shot and those seem to be working for him.

We went to Becoming Jane last weekend and we were both sorely disappointed. I wanted to walk out a couple times. It made me in the mood for a real Jane Austen movie though, so we rented one…LOL Rex bought me an outfit for our Anniversary and the kids got us Martini glasses, made chocolate truffles, Geneva got me some jewelry and Rex some chips:) the kids also got us a few other things.

Neck and Back Problems!

We recently took a trip to Nebraska for Rex’s grandmother’s 97th birthday! She is really fit and the walker she using we dubbed her runner because she is so fast. I was able to see my mother and brother while we were away for the weekend. We went swimming and it was the first time this summer I have gotten bit by a mosquito. The mosquitoes have not been bad around here, since I usually get bit a lot from them.

Rex got his MRI results back last week and it was really cool to see it. He has 2 bulges disc and arthritis. He also has a extra vertebrate that has been fused since birth, I think this explains his hamstrings  He is going in again this week to get a steroid injection, they will sedate him and this treatment takes about a week to start working. His pain killers help him out a lot and the fact he is not a big moaner and complainer..lol I think most people are surprised to find out he has back problems, partly because you can’t tell. Well he has had times when he couldn’t walk…lol Basically though they told him he would have flare ups that might last between 6-12 weeks. Hopefully there will be few of those.

My triathlon exercises have been going great; it has been really fun to do different exercises. I also do a different challenge everyday, they are called mini challenges. The weight loss group I belong to has them everyday. My abs were really hurting yesterday from doing reverse crunches.

I think this commercial is completely hilarious!
